A yogi is a person who practices yoga. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline that aims to integrate the mind, body, and spirit. In his autobiography , a yogi in Kannada describes his journey through life. The story begins with how he was born in a royal family in south India before delving into how he became obsessed with yoga at an early age. He talks about the hardships of being part of an orthodox family where public displays of affection were frowned upon and his search for love among women eventually led him to men. He also talks about losing faith when war broke out during World War II and turning away from society for almost five years until he discovered "The Path". His experiences with different spiritual teachers changed his life and how he viewed the world. He also tells of his travels to Europe, the US, and the Far East before finally coming home to India where he lived until his death at age fifty-seven. I have been searching for a long time now for a book that I can read for years to come. This one is it! The story was so thoughtful and relatable that I couldn't put it down until I had finished. There were times when I felt like I was on this journey that the author took us on. This is definitely a book that everyone should read. I can't really say anything bad about this book. It was so beautifully written and flowed so well. I loved the story of his life and how his life really changed after he had some profound experiences with some spiritual teachers. I loved how he showed us what we really need in life and the process of finding it. This is a must read for anyone who wants to find meaning in their life or just enjoy a beautiful story.
